Trucker Tim Ruins Our Truck Again?! | The Big Truck Giveaway 2
The giveaway returns with a new episode and a special guest! From Side Skirts to Run Up Ramps we fit a lot of new accessories. Millie and Ruby also call in Trucker Tim for some much needed help on our Side Window Deflectors.
In Episode 4 of The Big Truck Giveaway 2, work continues on the Renault T Range as the Kuda team pile on more amazing accessories for our winner.
Side Skirts
Kicking off the episode, Will - our main fitter for the series - returned once again to fit some side skirts. Last series,
Millie and Ruby painted the side skirts themselves, but this time, we had already had them colour matched to the
stunning deep blue of the Renault, and they were ready to go. Side skirts really bring the whole truck together,
making it look more complete and sleeker than ever. The transformation this one accessory has given the truck is
truly incredible!
Will, as always, did an absolutely fantastic job with the side skirts, and the girls were just relieved that they didn't have to suit up and paint them this time!
Following on with the ongoing colour scheme, Millie and Ruby ensured that this TreadSafe was created in a striking white, matching with the existing MirrorShields, Hadley Airhorns, and wheel trims. The more white that is added to the truck, the better the colour scheme is going to come together once the all-important wrap is added at a later stage, and we knew this would add the perfect pop of white behind the cab.
The catwalk was fitted by Kieran, in his first appearance on the series. Kieran is a long-time member of the Kuda team, working in several departments over the years.
Including fitting and warehouse operations, Kieran did a fantastic job. He was also aided with this job by Karl, another talented member of our fitting team. As a bonus, Kieran also added some new run up ramps to Rory, giving a fresh touch to this part of the truck.
Once the catwalk was fitted, it was time to get creative with our decals, and for that, the only person to ask was Olly from our R&D department. TreadSafe Catwalks come with pre-applied safety decals with a striking yellow and red design. For the giveaway truck, however, we wanted a decal design that truly represented the series and all the fantastic brands we have worked with and included. After some consideration, Millie and Olly settled on designing clear stickers that put all of the relevant brand logos down each side of the catwalk. Against the white background, these really stood out and looked fantastic; it’s the unique, personal touches such as this which are bound to make Rory into one very special truck!
Thankfully, the Vepro side window deflectors for the Renault T Range are fitted with acrylic tape as opposed to clips, making these slightly easier to fit than those on the DAF XF. However, once they realised this meant they’d have to go up on a ladder, the girls knew they needed some help. The problem was, the Kuda team had given them this job to do and weren’t willing to help out. They realised they would need to find outside reinforcements…
… so isn’t it lucky that they happen to know Trucker Tim!
After a quick text, Tim arrived the very next day to help the girls out. Of course, he had other motives for coming to Kuda alongside this - you can check out our TikTok to see what else he got up to!
Before getting started, the girls took Tim for a walk around the warehouse to browse the Kuda goodies he wanted for his truck and pick up the side window deflectors. Tim was excited to discover the Baby Shark 4.0 airhorns, some new Strands lights, and more, and the girls were sure to make a few videos with him while they were there.
Finally, it was time to fit the side window deflectors, but there was one problem - Tim didn’t have any training in ladder safety! Quickly, the girls rushed him upstairs to watch an informative health and safety video so that he could take on the task properly prepared. Tim was less than impressed, but he completed the video and returned to the fitting task with confidence.
As they watched Tim work, Millie and Ruby were amazed by how quickly and accurately he applied the side window deflectors; he fitted them much better than they would have been able to. The girls realised they had made a great decision in roping him in to help. When Tim was finished with the side window deflectors, he signed the cab (in several places), stuck on some of his stickers, and even signed the girl’s toolbox.
It was great to see Tim again, and we’re super grateful for all of his help!
