Fitting The Winning AIR HORNS! | The BIG Truck Giveaway Episode 2

Last episode, we acquired the DAF XF Super Space Cab that we will be giving away at the end of the 12 episode series - in Episode 2, it's time to start customising it!

Millie and Ruby were really excited to find out the results of our first polls. Viewers had been given a choice between 3 of our favourite air horns: Basuri Baby Shark, Hadley Twin Air Horns, and Black TGV’s. The results were incredibly close, but the winning air horns were the Hadley’s: a great choice!

However, there was still one more surprise Millie and Ruby had up their sleeves. After thinking that our new Kuda Black Edition Hadley’s wouldn’t be in stock until April, we were pleasantly surprised when they came in a few weeks early. Millie and Ruby had wanted to choose them as an option for the poll, and we had many comments from viewers asking if we could add them in. Luckily, the early arrival meant they could be fitted just in time, so we decided to opt for them as they were so popular and so new!

Millie and Ruby headed to the warehouse to find Kim - our warehouse operative - and grab the airhorns. Unfortunately, Kim wasn’t available to help, so the girls had to find them by themselves. After some confusion from Ruby about whether they needed to fit two or four horns (spoiler alert: it was four), the girls headed over to the fitting bay with the Hadley’s, ready to hand them over and leave the installation to the professionals.

The air horns were fitted by Will, one of our most experienced fitters. Will was a great sport with being on camera for the first time and helped out a lot with the filming while fitting the horns. In episode 2, you can see a full time lapse of Will completing this job, including a POV headcam that he wore throughout. The whole process couldn’t have gone better, and within no time, the horns were on. We want to give a massive thank you to Will for doing an excellent job!

Once the horns were fitted, it was time to listen to them. The only problem? Millie and Ruby were left by themselves to figure out how they worked! The girls were very familiar with playing unfitted air horns to record the sounds, but they didn’t know where to start when using them in an actual truck. After a while of searching (and several phone calls to Tim and Tom) they finally found the button that they needed to press and got their first listen of the Hadley’s.

The sound of these air horns is so loud and clear; whoever wins this truck is going to be one very lucky driver!

But of course, our customisation of the truck is far from over, and with this new episode comes a new poll. Next episode, we will be adding a name board, and it’s up to our viewers to decide which one! The options are:
